What exactly is acne?
Acne is a non-contagious skin disease that is characterised by excessive sebum formation in conjunction with a cornification disorder, as well as the appearance of pimples, pustules and sometimes painful nodules. Acne can also put a strain on the psychological well-being of those affected.
What types of acne are there?
There are different types of acne. Some of them primarily occur during puberty, but others can still occur in adulthood. The causes of acne are varied: hereditary factors can play a role, but so can hormonal fluctuations or stress, to name just a few. The most common type of acne is probably acne vulgaris (common acne). However, there are also other forms of acne.
How does Valkyrie cream work against acne?
Valkyrie cream contains a special formulation with colloidal oatmeal to treat and prevent acne.
What causes acne?
Acne is caused by a combination of oil production, bacteria, and dead skin cells. The sebaceous glands produce oil (sebum) which helps to lubricate the skin and hair. When the sebum combines with bacteria and dead skin cells, it can block the pores and cause acne. Hormones, stress, and diet can also aggravate acne.
